Varieties of SPC Anti-Slip Floors: SPC Anti-Slip Floors can have different levels of slip resistance, depending on their classification.
The continuous search for more functional and aesthetically pleasing SPC products has led to the development of versatile and slip resistant flooring. Their popularity has increased in recent years for spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms or swimming pool areas.
When choosing a flooring collection, we consider aspects such as format, design and shape, but it is essential to take into account the characteristics of the area where it will be installed.
- Does it get wet frequently?
- Only sometimes?
- Do you walk barefoot?
- Is it an indoor or outdoor space?
The answers to these questions will help us to select the right type of flooring.

Suitable type of flooring SPC
These types or varieties of SPC slip resistant flooring are defined according to various standards, such as the Spanish standard, which establishes three different categories based on slope:
- C1: for slopes of less than 6%, ideal for home interiors, providing additional safety in everyday use.
- C2: this type of SPC flooring is recommended for interiors, especially in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, and can also be used in some outdoor spaces.
- C3: intended for indoor areas with slopes greater than 7 or 8%, considered the safest anti-slip for all types of interiors and swimming pools.

DIN 51130 standard
This classification is internationally recognised, including the German standard DIN 51130. The assessment used to classify SPC flooring is the Ramp Test, where a person walks over the material with different liquids on a tight ramp until they lose their balance, resulting in a classification including the letter R.
- R9: 6 to 9° inclination, suitable for most domestic spaces.
- R10: 10 to 19°, more versatile and suitable for bathrooms and other spaces such as kitchens.
- R11 – R12: 19 to 35°, very slip resistant in dry and wet conditions; recommended for wet areas and public spaces such as showers or swimming pools, as well as being suitable for walkways or porches.
- R13: with an inclination of more than 35°, it is the most extreme option for areas with a high risk of slipping, such as swimming pools.
